It is always refreshing to see someone who doesn't have to live this way, "try it out" and realize how punitive our social security system really is. Are not the politicians the ones who should be trying to change things, instead of always trying to 'pay off the debt' on the backs of the poor and the disabled?
I applaud, this video for trying to get the message out, however my faith in the system was killed long ago, I am a person on disability, through the ministry (welfare). I'm on it because of a legitimate disability.I have to find work any way i can just to live. Even when I'm am sick, I should be taking care of myself and eating nutritious food, I get SICKCARE not healthcare.I'm lucky I get the max amount to live on, which is $320, for housing, and 700 for EVERYTHING ELSE. Average rent in this city for a clean one bedroom is about 1000.I do not care what anyone says it's about a $1000 a month.I have no phone, no cable no internet. WTF CANADA, I payed taxes and still do.I am A GOD Dam CANADIAN, and this is how we are treated.Even if you have to work to survive , they take that money and deduct it from your next cheque, thus keeping you in poverty. You appose euthanasia, you'd think they would love to give us that pill, I guess they like to watch you suffer. &^%$ U harper& christy .
I think when Jagrup finish will with this “on welfare experience”; he will be in very good position to convince his colleagues and to the government that what it is like to be living on $610.00 per month. Money is not the only issue here. The issue is also that how we can help some of those who struck in this situation. And what we can do to bring them back to the society so they can contribute equally as every one of us.
