Take a minute and check out the government of canada-departments and agencies web site and similar sites for provincial and municipal governments which will help to provide a better understanding of what our tax dollars are supposed to be paying for. The very fact that we live in a safe, socially and economically developed country is because of taxes. The creation of private corporations even depends on government issue of the legal documents that allow individuals to create a company! Tax dollars are required to maintain all of these services. The only real problem is that many corporations, once actually created through legal processes established by government, are allowed to benefit immensely without contributing their fair share to the tax pools and instead, leave the greater tax burden to be borne by individuals.

This is simply the best thing I have ever seen to make the point that our day-to-day life is public services; that public services are in metaphor and in reality "the air that we breathe': that the Canada "we know and love" is, from top to bottom, fashioned out of public services.

Good on you guys. Now all we have to do is get 33 million of us to watch it and get it--and our jobs will be done.
