My father was badly mistreated at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener where he spend 6 of the last 12 months of his life. He was left in wet diapers and restrained in painful positions for hours, and was given a catheter because a doctor failed to prescribe the prostrate drug he needed. Because of the catheter he developed a c difficile infection. He was kept restrained in bed for 2 weeks because the nurses could not be bothered to search for a tie that would hold him in a wheelchair. When I said this was abuse, it took a nurse less than 3 minutes to obtain a tie that would allow him to sit up in a wheelchair. Whenever I complained, management acted as if they cared, but they did almost nothing to fix things. When we had him transferred to another hospital, the doctor was shocked by my father's condition, which he attributed to maltreatment at Grand River Hospital. I have heard similar stories from others whose elderly family members received similar mistreatment at Grand River Hospital.

Such good info! Corps. are simply greedy! as is the current Cdn govt. This has to stop! These ppl deserve to be treated with dignity and respect! Put yourself in their place!!
