However, anyone who does have to borrow to pay for tuition should make paying off this debt the prime focus whenever any income is earned. Summer jobs---still living at home---use the income to pay down the debt!!!!!
That will address the problem of student debt far sooner than any govenment imposed solution............... Current measures do not fully address the challenges that lower income families face when it comes to ensuring their children get an equal opportunity for higher education.
Student loan applications and approvals should be accompanied by a solid plan on how this debt will/can be repaid over a short period of time, instead of the current arrangement where only minimum payments are required. Even with a low interest rate, the lenders are making a killing off the backs of the future workforce.
